“Sunday lunch with friends

Went with group of 12 for Sunday lunch. Very tasty homemade meal. Lots of fresh veg. Choice of 4 meats. All piping hot, served quickly. Reasonable prices. Highly recommend.”

30th August 2023 – from Kerry

“What a gem. Super friendly landlord and customers. Lovely traditional pub with a great atmosphere. The ambiance and food was 11/10. We ordered a mega burger and my husband said it was amazing. Generous sized portions and fabulous crispy onions rings and hot chips. I had the lamb shank with mash with a redcurrant and mint gravy and it was unbelievable. The gravy was the best I think I have ever had. There was loads of meat and I couldn’t finish it! It was so tender it fell off the bone. Everything was spotless and obviously well looked after and the kitchen looked immaculate (probably one of the cleanest tidiest kitchens we have ever seen in a pub). I’d go back in a heartbeat because I feel cheated I couldn’t force down a pudding haha. The pie section of the menu was really interesting and all home made – no stingy portions either this looked like pie heaven so I’ll try that next. Easy to find, good parking and smashing selection of ciders etc. 100% worth a visit and we will be back probably this week because we enjoyed it so much it’s well worth the drive for such a smashing pub. I must add the menus was very impressive overall especially the vegan selection was looked so much better than the usual lentil bakes I see around. My best friends vegan so we might take her with us next time and treat her to a decent meal ! Thanks for a lovely evening see you again soon x”

13th April 2021 – “Went there for a quick meal with my friend this evening. Was good to see a busy atmosphere on the first night of being open since the lockdown. Signs were clear and easy to follow with the steps the owners have put in place to keep a safe environment. In the garden there is a big heater provided which makes these cold evenings a lot easier to cope with. Good food, good vibes. Highly recommend.” Thank you Jordan.

A pleasant surprise. We went for a Sunday lunch and were very pleased – a lovely experience. The Sunday roast is plated with meat and some vegetables and then a huge amount of vegetables were brought to our table. We were a table of 5 and unfortunately we had to leave some of the vegetables as there were so many. We were naughty and had a pudding! We were all very pleased with the pud and I had a wonderful meringue. We were looked after so well – friendly and efficient. We’ve told a number of friends about the Ring O’Bells and they’ve dined there. They have all been very pleased with their experience.

Our website was reviewed and we lost a lot of comments from February 2020 – July 2018.

Reviewed by Suzanne P – 5 Jul 2018 Great local pub – Lovely food, friendly staff, good prices. Provided great info on local walks on our first visit. Visited several times during our stay and had an enjoyable experience each time. Would recommend to others staying in the area.

16/5/2018 – Reviewed by MrsMiller23, Wow what a great review from a customer on Sunday –
“Fantastic. Literally the best Sunday roast I’ve had at a pub in years. Beef that was still pink, homemade Yorkshire’s and roast potatoes, plenty of veg that had decent flavour, proper gravy and pork crackling that was perfect.
After nabbing a few chips from the kids played too, I can confirm they are incredible too.
Desserts were all homemade and fantastic, something very rarely seen these days.

Amazing value for such a wonderful meal. We have just moved into the area and will definitely be back!”

Thank you Emily Marsh for your great review on 14th April. “Visiting friends in Moorlinch we decided to visit this pub a couple of times and on one occasion have a meal. Service is spot on. Staff are so friendly and go out of their way to help and make you feel comfortable. The food was incredible. Cooked to perfection! We constantly feel relaxed and at home. We WILL be visiting again when we come. Beautiful local country pub. Thank you for the lovely experience.”

Annie Stephens “Very welcoming and lovely food. Great value for money :)” March 2018

From Richard & Anne “As far as we are concerned, your delicious pub food is the best in Somerset!  It is lovely, wholesome, home-cooked cuisine, which isn’t matched by anywhere else we have been. You introduce new dishes in amongst the old favourites, and also tasty desserts, cakes and biscuits – and special sweet fayre as you did at the time of Children in Need).  Added to this is the homely, welcoming atmosphere of a beautiful old English pub run by a lovely family.  We love the Ring of Bells, Moorlinch!  – Anne and Richard. January 2018

From Tripadvisor – ” On our way back from Cornwall came off M5 to find somewhere for lunch and saw sign on main road directing us to the village. What a great pub. Such value and fantastic food. “Thanks ever so much for putting on a great venue for Anne’s Party. General comment on the food was that it was excellent (and huge!) from everybody we spoke to. The cake was very much admired, and we still have lots to eat (we also have your plate).  As a venue for oldish(!!) people like us it was great and only slight change from ways we have celebrated in the past was that our friends seemed very happy to sit and talk, rather than leap up and skittle. Oh well, we are getting on I guess! Anyway, thanks ever so much for all your hard work” – Peter Farmer October 2014
