Local Interest

The Ring O’ Bells is ideally located for those interested in wildlife, nature, fishing, birds & walking as it is situated on the Somerset Levels. Also we are privileged to be associated with two local artists; mother and daughter: Anne Farmer and Nancy Farmer. Please take a look at their websites

Walking
We are lucky to have some beautiful walks and public footpaths near to the Ring O’ Bells in Moorlinch and neighbouring villages of Sutton Mallet, Stawell, Othery, Middlezoy, Chedzoy, Ashcott, Catcott, etc. There is the South West Coast Path, Celtic Way and the River Parrett Trail plus the Levels and Moors flatlands of Somerset.

Cycling
The West Country Way (Route No 3 of the National Cycle Network) is not far away from Moorlinch.

Fishing
For those intersted in fishing, Avalon Fisheries is situated near Glastonbury which provides Coarse fishing. Other interesting fishing places are King Sedgemoor Drain, Huntspill River and Durleigh Reservoir. Sea fishing is recommended at Burnham-on-sea and Weston-Super-Mare.

Nature & Birds
The Greylake RSPB Nature Reserve is only about 2 miles away on the Somerset Levels located on the Old Taunton Road A361.

Things to do & Family Fun

Bridgwater Carnival (only 8 miles away) hosts the worlds largest illuminated carnival. There are many other carnivals in Somerset during November.

Cheddar Gorge & Caves – Visit the caves or walk up Jacobs Ladder and enjoy the fantastic views of the Cheddar Gorge

Wookey Hole – A great day out for all the family, visit the caves, Fairy Garden, see the dinosaurs, Papermill Museum or see the Clown or Circus Theatre. 

Clarks Village – In Street only 5 miles from Moorlinch. A great shopping experience with many outlet shops.

Animal Farm Adventure Park – Near Burnham-On-Sea and Brean, a great day out for the family. Ride on the train around the grounds, feed the animals, indoor play area and much more.

Water Sports – Middlemoor Water Park hosts water skiing, wake boarding, jet skiing and karting.
